Durban ICC - The Water Research Commission (WRC) showcased a newly developed innovative online communication tool developed for Wastewater treatment practitioners in a workshop held on Monday, 16 May 2016 in Durban.
The event attracted water and wastewater sector professionals, academics, graduate students, Wastewater engineers, Wastewater Works process operators and consultants as part of the WISA Biennial Conference 2016.
Wastewater Connect is an online platform designed to be an exclusive resource for the water and wastewater professional in South Africa. We seek to provide a knowledge and resource base for the scientists, engineers and all other interested parties who comprise the South African water treatment community.
Dr John Zvimba, WRC Research Manager responsible for the development of this new tool said,“The new tool offers the chances to further enhance the skills of members with blog articles, product reviews and techniques demonstrations that are both strongly scientific and practically relevant. Most crucially, Wastewater Connect aims to get the entire water community communicating with each other in an open, online forum that allows for the exchange of new ideas, promotes collaborations, and rapidly enhance understanding, thus furthering the state of this science as a whole”.
This workshop served to improve aspects relating to the tool developed thus far whilst promoting collaborations with all interested parties.
