Water Research Commission Institutional Review 2013: Self-Assessment Report
The Water Research Commission (WRC) of South Africa South Africa is conducting an institutional review to provide the institution with an external, independent assessment of its current operations and intended future strategic direction with respect to the WRC’s relevance, effectiveness and performance in relation to its statutory mandate and its core strategy. The outcomes of the review are intended to be used as an input to the finalization of the WRC’s five-year strategic plan.
The WRC institutional review will comprise of two phases, an internal preparatory phase followed by the External Review Panel.
1. The preparation phase will comprise:
A ‘self-assessment’ report (SAR) through a combination of desktop analysis using a range of WRC documentation and short-term study reports on key issues; and
A stakeholder consultation using a largely South African team.
2. The review process conducted by the External Review Panel
that will accompany the above comprising of:
• Desktop review using the SAR, background documentation
(see list provided below), and other documentation.
• Stakeholder engagement.
• Post-engagement analysis and compilation of review.
• Presentation of review findings to a stakeholder conference/workshop.
We welcome all interested parties to submit a proposal for the self-assessment report to Dr. Inga Jacobs by 1 November.
