Ms Virginia Molose

Research Manager: Multiple use Water  Services

Ms Virginia Molose is a Research Manager at the WRC responsible for managing Multiple Use Water Services African Development Bank funded project over a four year period. Virginia is responsible for overseeing research portfolio on equity, gender and institutional arrangements in water sector. Virginia holds a B.A degree in Social Sciences and has completed coursework MPhil (IWRM) with research outstanding. She also holds an Accredited Trainer and Assessor Certificates by ETDP-SETA. Virginia has worked in the water and sanitation for a number of years contributing significantly to skills development, training and capacity building of civil society organisation staff members, government especially local government officials and community members. Virginia has also worked as a policy specialist undertaking research particularly in the areas of health and hygiene, nexus between water and sanitation and HIV&AIDS and gender and gender mainstreaming in the water sector. This research has led to Virginia contributing published articles in sector publications such as The Water Wheel magazine, IRC –Bulletin and The Mvula Trust Maru-a-Pula. It also provided her with an opportunity to serve in strategic sector committees and teams. Also this research work has provided Virginia with an opportunity to make submissions to key sector policy review processes, to write and disseminate policy advocacy articles, knowledge and information sharing at national and international workshops and conferences. Virginia boasts sound facilitation skills which have seen her facilitate strategic meetings and workshops including an annual general meeting of African Civil Society Network on Water (ANEW). She is conversant in facilitating participatory methodologies for community engagements like Participatory Health and Sanitation Transformation Tools (PHAST), Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and Rights Based Approaches (RBA).
