The Water Wheel is a magazine aimed at improving general public understanding of science and technology. The Water Wheel has been in publication since 2002 with material being sourced from outside the WRC. Paid advertisements are also encouraged.Â
The Water Wheel is issued bi-monthly (6 editions per year). The WRC distributes copies to subscribers throughout South Africa and the SADC countries although there is an increasing emphasis on the electronic version.
Editorial Principles: Guidelines for Contributors
The following four editorial guidelines will assist contributors planning to submit items for publication in the Water Wheel:
- Preference is given to Good News stories - new developments, achievements, positive contributions to society and the improvement of life in general
- The Application of Science and scientific processes, methods and research in the water field are highlighted
- A Visual Approach is preferred, as opposed to long and complex articles that are difficult to read
- The Human Element should always form a major part of every science article.
