The position of a Chief Information Officer will be responsible for the development and implementation of the ICT strategy and initiatives, ICT risk management and overall management and control of ICT operations and systems that are integral to research and innovation as well as implement cost-effective and critical business systems that are reliable, secured and aligned to appropriate best practices. This includes development and implementation of a strategic ICT governance framework, policies and standards for Information Communications and Technology (ICT) that are aligned to the organisational strategy, ensuring
services, and overall management and control of ICT operations. Furthermore, the incumbent will be responsible for providing vision and leadership for developing and implementing information system initiatives that are aligned to the WRC strategy, transforming the ICT service to deliver a seamless high- quality service across the organisation and ensuring the adherence to all governance frameworks for digital technology and information required to ensure that digital technology enables the WRC to achieve its core purpose and mandate, reduce risk and enable the business to carry out their duties.
Applicants must be in possession of an NQF Level 7 Qualification in Information System/Information Technology/Computer Science or related field. A Post graduate qualification in Information System/Information Technology/Computer Science/business management or related field will be an added advantage. A minimum of or in a similar position with at least 5 years of which should be in management position(s). Head: Legal and Auxiliary Services in the Corporate Services Branch
This position calls for a team player with excellent management, planning and execution skills and the ability to build efficiencies and effectiveness to deliver on the strategy. The incumbent will be responsible for providing strategic direction by providing legal counsel and support on the organization , this includes diverse areas such as contracts, litigation, dispute resolution and labour issues. This role will also be responsible for the development and implementation of an effective records management and strategic framework. The Head: Legal and Auxiliary Services will form part of the Corporate Services Branch and will report to the Executive: Corporate Services.
